Distributing school lunches to children as school is closed

With schools closed due to coronavirus, for many students the loss of free or subsidized school lunches is a first order nutritional crisis.  In this audio, Noreen Warnock of Local Matters, a food security organization in Columbus Ohio,  discusses how we can help ensure that the food continues to reach these children.

Noreen says that Columbus organizations had long tried to get school lunches to be provided during school breaks like Christmas or  summertime, but it took the coronavirus crisis  for  a system  to be put in place in Columbus to continue to feed students in current out-of-school days.

A key issue identified by Noreen: need for volunteers to help transport the food to pickup locations for students.
